‘SAKAMOTO’ COLLECTION
Our 'Sakamoto' collection encompasses minimalism and clarity of design. As one of our earlier works back when we first started our company, the focus of this design was to create a simple table that could meld with just about any style, while also being able to offer the design in a variety of sizes in an entry level price range compared to some of our more complex handmade table designs. Our standard ‘Sakamoto’ table is offered in two wood grade options to compliment different styles, and is paired with a simple tapered steel base. The “common” grade dimensional walnut version embraces the natural “wild” character of the wood that includes knots, inclusions and a vibrant array of figure and grain patterns. For those who prefer a more streamlined look, we offer an upgrade to “prime” grade dimensional walnut with minimal knots and soft grain character that provides a refined but versatile look that can integrate into any room.
From dining tables and conference tables, to expandable options and desks with drawer and keyboard options, we’ve modified this design to accommodate just about any use. With each custom order we can modify the design to fit your exact needs including adding a beveled edge for those who prefer a more mid-century look and customizing the powder-coat color applied to the base. Other material options are also available upon request. We’ve also designed a matching bench set to complete the look.

‘sakamoto’ DINING TABLE
In choosing a name for this table, we opted to call the design ‘Sakamoto’ as a tribute to our client’s whom we designed and built the original prototype table for. ‘Sakamoto’ is a common Japanese surname and has a meaning that loosely translates to '(one who lives) at the bottom of the slope'. In this case this design was appropriately named, with the original table residing at the base of Squaw Valley ski resort nestled in the mountains of Olympic Valley in a mountain modern home.
‘SAKAMOTO’ MATERIAL OPTIONS
White oak, ash, maple, European beech (pictured), cherry, reclaimed redwood, and different slab woods are among the many materials we’ve worked with.
SALVAGED CLARO WALNUT SLAB ‘SAKAMOTO’ DINING TABLE
An eye-catching upgrade that is sure to continue to mesmerize you at every glance! We have a variety of salvaged walnut slabs that provide rich character with marbling grain patterns and a vibrant array of colors. Each slab is sustainably harvested and milled by a professional tree salvager, kiln dried to proper moisture content, and leveled over a series of several weeks to ensure a lasting tabletop that will be with your family for generations.
‘SAKAMOTO’ DESK
This desk version of our ‘Sakamoto’ design is scaled down and built with a smaller footprint with multiple depth options, and the legs are mounted further toward the ends for maximizing the available leg room between the table legs. The design is customizable in a variety of ways including the placement of the table leg to accommodate personal seating needs and chair sizes, the option of adding a shallow drawer, adding a drawer tower, or adding a keyboard tray.
‘SAKAMOTO’ L-DESK
Perfect for a corner desk or floating desk, we can add a return to our ‘Sakamoto’ design for extended functionality needs.
BEVELED ‘SAKAMOTO’ TABLE
Dimensional black walnut in common or prime grade with mid-century modern inspired-beveled edges implemented on all sides of the tabletop incorporate a softness and sleekness into the design.
ROUNDED CORNER + BEVELED ‘SAKAMOTO’ TABLE
Add rounded corners and optional bevel for a smooth transition around the entire table edge.
FULL ROUNDOVER ‘SAKAMOTO’ TABLE
A full roundover (bullnose) edge profile was added to the long edges of the table for comfort as well as to add a softening feature to the design.
‘SAKAMOTO’ DINING SET W/ BENCH(ES)
As a step further with our ‘Sakamoto’ collection, we added a bench to complete the look. A simple bench without a seat back allows an unrestricted view of the table., and we also added a bench with seat back and beveled edges.
EXTENDABLE ‘SAKAMOTO’ TABLE
Optional leaves can be added to the end of our ‘Sakamoto’ design to maximize seating. The leaves are completely removable and customizable in a variety of sizes.
